i did it! i wrote something 30 days in a row! Whew. What did i learn? I am not so good at writing interesting things 30 days in a row. er, at all. The hardest part about all of this is that this month has been the craziest month I’ve had in a long time. A weird injury, making offers on houses, a LOT of business. it’s just been crazy. But, it’s been nice to force myself to stop at the end of the day and just write something.

It’s been great. I’ve met a lot of new people, and I really enjoyed doing this. Maybe this means I’ll start writing more… after a few days off.

My friend Brian reminded me the other day that I need to exercise my photography. Now, it’s not that I don’t love my job. I have great clients and I truly enjoy every moment of what i do. But, I need to remember to do personal projects and new things to keep my love for the art alive. Today I convinced Meyer to wander with me and be my model. It didn’t take too much convincing. Three gummi bears, a sushi lunch and a trip to the park resulted in more fun for both of us than we’ve had in a long time. I was also able to take pictures just for me, to try some new things and to enjoy the *art* of photography, not just the business.

New Website!

Whew! That was a long time coming. I finially have the website complete in its final incarnation. I am pleased to announce that the new, improved, fancy and shiny feileacan.com is up and in action. go look. it makes me happy. More images will be added to the galleries in the next few days.

In other news, I guess there is one last attempt at resurrecting this house deal. There are some issues with the existing structure not having permits, the possibility of it actually being a 2 bedroom, and the ever present septic issues. good times, good times. We’ll see what this latest paper shuffle brings. Until then, we sit tight in our lovely little home and dream of goats to come.

I want to name my goat Isadora Duncan.

c’est la vie

the deal may be dead. it’s getting overly complicated and more expensive by the day. We’ll know a little more tomorrow. Until then, I’ll keep dreaming and naming my chickens.

It’s been awhile since I’ve bragged about my son. Lets look at this photo here. That’s Vietnamese Pho soup. With broccol, carrrots, tofu and zucchini. In all fairness, he didn’t care too much for the zucchini, but broccoli? It’s his favorite vegetable. I can’t tell you how proud I am to have a child that is adventurous in foods. I mean really, (here comes gushing!) how many three and a half year olds do you know that like unagi? or tobiko? or blue cheese? or smoked oysters? This is a kid who said, after he ate some of my really tart cranberry sauce, “it’s a little tangy at the finish”. Who talks like that? especially a preschooler?! At some point I’ll have to get another job just to pay our grocery bills.

and we’re off!

I wanted to share this shot from a recent shoot. This young family was so cute, but very nervous to be photographed. It took a little bit of tme for us to ease in, but once we did, we ended up with a really cute group of photos. This is one of the card designs we came up with, and one of my favorite images from the shoot. It always pleases me when the customers like an image I choose as my favorite. They ended up choosing this image, but in color, and a different card style that i tweaked to match the colors that they were wearing. so cute!

thanks
