Summer is a really nice time when you have kids. When you are blessed to work for yourself and have a teacher husband the summers are really a great time to be a family. We’ve been camping, swimming, playing in the tree house and just hanging out. I took a little road trip with my parents this weekend to see my grandparents in Grass Valley. As expected, it was 99 degrees the whole time, so we spent as much time “watering the lawn” as possible. Meyer has obviously inherited my love of the water and would be in a pool or in the sprinklers 20 hours a day if I let him. (heck, if we had a pool *I* would be in the water 20 hours a day!)

August 13, 2007This is my friend Isabel. I met her mama online when I was pregnant with Meyer. Isabel’s little brother is a few days younger than Meyer… Last September Isabel’s family started on a terrible medical journey with a rush to the hospital, unsure diagnosis of Aplastic Anemia, and a lot of heartache. In January, they confirmed a diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Isabel is doing good, but she is still doing chemo and will be for another two years… Isabel chose to swim with the dolphins for her Make A Wish vacation, and the family just returned from Hawaii. I love these folks. Visit Isabel’s site at www.helpisabel.us.
