my passion flower finally bloomed! we planted this over a year ago and the vine has been amazingly vigorous in its growth. Buds started forming four months ago, and soon the vine was covered in them. Then some started to turn yellow and getting dry. Now, about half are yellow, but half are starting to bloom. I haven’t researched why, but I am so glad it finally decided to show the amazing blooms off!

We went camping this weekend out at the coast. It was just a quick one night away, an early mother’s day gift to myself. The campground was a mere 30 minutes from home, close enough to have friends join us for lunch the following day, but far enough that we felt like we were escaping.

I like keys. I have quite a bowl of keys that sit on top of our television cabinet. Most i inherited from my great-grandmother who must have saved every key she came in contact with. just in case she ever needed it.

My great-aunt sent me an unexpected surprise today. A box packed full with some of my great-grandmother’s christmas ornaments. I didn’t know her very well, she lived somewhat far away and died when I was 18. Her character shined through in stories and the times that I did spend with her. I love vintage christmas ornaments and these three guys are some of my favorites from this batch.

I had the pleasure of photographing this family over the weekend. It was a short little session in their sunny backyard. They were getting a family portrait done for their grammy for mother’s day. Lovely family!
